Our co-founder, Guy Horne, was a guest panellist at Insider North West’s Digital and Tech Conference on 30th October 2018. The event was held at The Landing – a technology hub in MediaCityUK.
The conference recognised the achievements of companies using fintech, proptech and Industry 4.0 techniques to grow their businesses in the region. It was also a chance to celebrate how the North is leading the way in the digital landscape by encouraging greater technological advancement.
Guy sat on the Q&A panel alongside other industry leading experts including Paul Raymond, director of strategic relationships at Conferma and Jo Morfee, co-founder of InnovateHer.
It was a great platform for Guy to discuss the company’s use of blockchain technology as a way of buying and selling residential properties. The new digital age offers greater cost efficiency, transparency, security and speed, with blockchain technology epitomising this.
Jo Morfee of InnovateHer added a different dimension to the debate, with her views of getting more women interested in the digital sector. By sharing statistics like ‘only one in ten computer science students are female,’ Jo highlighted a need for the tech sector to appeal to female talent.
Mike Houghton, managing director at Siemens Process Industries also attended the event, discussing how UK companies could maximise benefits by increasing their adoption of digital technology.
The event captured the refreshing initiatives of technology businesses across the Northern Powerhouse and we’re proud to be involved in such a growing sector.
